Dr. Mohammad Arjmand Selected for Science Meets Parliament BC 2026

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Mohammad Arjmand has been selected as a delegate for Science Meets Parliament British Columbia (SMP-BC) 2026, a prestigious national initiative that connects leading researchers with policymakers.

Science Meets Parliament BC is a unique program in Canada that provides researchers with the opportunity to engage directly with Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), gaining first-hand insight into the policy-making process while contributing scientific perspectives to public decision-making. Through this initiative, delegates participate in discussions on how evidence-based research can inform policy across critical areas including sustainability, advanced materials, and emerging technologies.

Dr. Arjmand’s participation highlights the growing impact of research in polymer engineering, advanced materials, and sustainable manufacturing in shaping policy and innovation. This engagement further strengthens the role of the Plastic Recycling Research Cluster (PRRC) and UBC Okanagan in bridging science, industry, and government.

We congratulate Dr. Arjmand on this achievement and look forward to the valuable contributions and insights that will emerge from this experience.
